Some things are worth protecting.
The words you write. The ideas you’re still working out. The lists, the plans, the moments you don’t want to forget.
This cover is made for exactly that — crafted by hand in Kofu, Japan, using inden, a technique that has survived 440 years of history. Deer or cowhide is hand-painted with lacquer, one careful stroke at a time, by artisans who learned this craft the way it has always been passed down: slowly, in person, by doing.
The result is a cover that gets better with use. The leather softens to your hands. The lacquer deepens with age. It becomes, over time, unmistakably yours.
Dragonfly 蜻蛉 Tonbo
The dragonfly does not fly backward. It moves only forward — with precision, with purpose, without hesitation. Japanese warriors called it kachimushi, the victory insect, and wore it into battle as a symbol of resolve. INDEN est.1582 has carried this pattern since the day it was founded, more than four centuries ago. Some symbols don’t need to change.

Care
Natural urushi lacquer deepens in luster with age. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Keep away from sharp or hard surfaces that may scratch the lacquer.
